A short history of the Cary Audio Design CAD-805 single ended triode power amplifier.
Cary released the original CAD-805 in 1992. It immediately garnered praise from international audiophile press and built on the Cary tradition of offering innovative and unique designs to music lovers worldwide. When reviewed by Stereophile it was featured on the front cover of the magazine with a solid state power amplifier under the heading 'If Either of these amplifiers is right, then the Other* must be wrong!' Ten years have now passed since that seminal review and the CAD-805 has not only stood the test of time, it has flourished! We are now entering into the fifth generation of the CAD-805 amplifier!
