The Cary SLP 05 is the single best equipment purchase I have ever made. It is wonderful sounding, convenient to use, beautiful to look at and built like a tank. I’ve been ushering friends through, all invited to bring and play their favorite piece. Everything has been wonderful and the consensus is that my rig has never sounded nearly this good. |

The SLP 05 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier is the most exciting control center available for today's state-of-the-art audio/video systems. In sound quality alone, it transcends all previous Cary Audio Design preamps and elevates both digital and analog sources to their full musical potential. Fully balanced, full-featured, including vacuum tube headphone stage, along with vacuum tube power supply. The SLP 05 is the preamp of choice for exceptional sound that rivals live performance.
In addition to the features listed to the left, the matching chassis size external power supply comes with 5AR4 vacuum tube voltage rectification and has two front panel meters for the circuit voltage and the bias readings. There is a timer warm up circuit that allows it to be used safely with 'rapid turn on' solid state power amplifiers. The headphone power amplifier uses two 6SN7 octal vacuum tubes coupled through audio transformers to produce 1/2 watt per channel.
The SLP 05 is engineered and built to provide a lifetime of musical enjoyment with facilities and features that ensure future compatibility and audiophile performance for many years to come. This preamplifier is a future collector’s item and deserves to be installed with the finest ancillary equipment available, such as the CD 306 SACD player or the CAD 211 Anniversary Edition power amplifiers. |
